White Bird
I’ve always liked “White Bird” released by “It’s A Beautiful Day” in 1969 because of the beautiful music and sad lyrics. Years later I found out that it was about Seattle! It’s A Beautiful Day’s agent got them a low paying gig in Seattle. They stayed in an attic across the street from Volunteer Park in December of 1967. They WERE the caged birds watching the rain-swept leaf-strewn Seattle streets under the cloudy sky. I listened to this song a lot when my grandson was a toddler. He’d always ask for me to play it again and again. I’ll have to ask him if he still likes it as much now that he’s 21.
